James has a broad commercial and public law practice. He regularly appears in the Queensland and Federal Courts at first instance and on appeals (led and unled). He was admitted in 2008 and called to the Bar in 2016.
James has acted for a diverse range of clients in various areas, particularly in commercial disputes, insurance, insolvency, wills and estates, property disputes, professional negligence and judicial review.
Prior to being called to the Bar, James was a Senior Associate at a top tier national law firm. He also worked in London as an Associate in the commercial disputes group at a “Magic Circle” law firm and as an in-house litigation lawyer at a “Big Four” accounting firm.
James holds a Master of Laws from QUT, a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) from UQ and a Bachelor of Arts from UQ. He is an affiliate member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners.
