Formed in 2002, Deane Chambers is named in honour of Sir William Deane AC KBE QC, a former prominent judge of the High Court of Australia from 1982 to 1995 and Governor-General of Australia. Justice Deane is widely regarded as one of the greatest judges to have served on the High Court, his time on the bench being marked by landmark judgments in the areas of negligence, equity and public law.
